The West course is set amid serene woodland and its design closely follows the natural contours of the undulating land.

Designed by Dave Thomas, the distinct character of the course makes it a good alternative to the other, more classical championship courses.

The course offers a challenge with its narrow fairways, frequent blind shots and the gullies, which snake through the course. Whilst offering stunning views, the fast greens and undulating fairways make this course exciting to play. It can be quite a deceiving course due to the frequent changes in elevation to contend with.
