La Cañada was the first municipal course on the Costa del Sol. Robert Trent Jones who also designed other courses in the area such as Valderrama and Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, designed the course.
Situated high above Guadiaro, it offers very well maintained greens, an important variety of autochthonous trees and the glen on the 9th hole, which gives its name to the golf course.
