Rory Leader & David Leader privately own Estepona Golf. The course is located on the inland side of the main coastal road 1 mile from Estepona town centre. Estepona was designed by Jose Luis Lopez and first opened in 1989. It is a relatively short course, with mainly narrow fairways, many water hazards and dangerous rough, which make it a challenging course to play.
The Signature Hole of the course is the third hole. This is reputedly the longest golf hole in Spain, known locally as the "ski-run". It stretches 568 metres downhill. If you get a good bounce with the drive the green is reachable in two. Beware of the thick rough on the left and shepherds pastures on the right.
