Lying off the North coast of Africa, Tenerife is an island of sharp contrasts and boasts a warm climate that varies only slightly throughout the year. The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife is divided by the dormant Mount Teide volcano which causes a climatic difference between the lush north and the dry, sunny south. Tenerife is an excellent choice for a, virtually guaranteed, winter sunshine holiday with a huge variety of nightlife, from the quiet and sophisticated to the late night party.

Golf is played on the island's six public courses. The four courses of Golf del Sur, Amarilla, Las Americas and Costa Adeje are based in the south of the island. There is a seventh course at Abama, which is very expensive to play and only a worthwhile option, if you are staying at the resort of Abama. Further north is Buenavista which is driving distance from the southerly courses. Finally, near Santa Cruz is the course of Real Club de Golf Tenerife which is the oldest course on the island. All the courses are accessible from any other part of the island. You could play at a course in the north of the island in the morning and drive to the south and play another course in the afternoon.
