Quinta de Peru, Aroeira, Troia and Penha Longa are the most renowned of the established courses but in recent years the three new courses at Praia del Rey, Belas and Golden Eagle are simply breathtaking and sure to be three of the best courses in Europe. Praia del Rey is a true links design, whilst Belas and Golden Eagle are American designs similar to Penha Longa.

The big bonus for anyone on a Lisbon golf holiday, however, is that the courses here are much quieter than those of the Algarve and the Costa del Sol, and just as important, the golf in this area offers great value for money. The climate is slightly cooler than the Algarve during the winter months, but in autumn, spring and early-summer the weather is great for golfing and this area really comes into its own.
